Passionate Poet Receives National Recognition

In October, cSw author/editor Eileen Huang had the honor of being appointed as the Northeast National Student Poet in the Class of 2015. The National Student Poets Program is the nation’s highest honor for youth poets presenting original work. It reflects the national imprimatur of the President’s Committee on the Arts and the Humanities and its honorary chair, First Lady Michelle Obama, as well as the Administration’s commitment to arts and humanities education. In the coming year, Eileen will be holding workshops and community service projects in the region focused on her passion for poetry and writing. She is grateful to the cSw staff for giving her the opportunity to explore both her interests in STEM and the liberal arts and for continuing to prove that science and humanities are not mutually exclusive.
